In earlier versions of NIS Identity Safe, I could choose to disable the password prompt that comes up when first using Identity Safe after each boot up. That option appears to no longer be available in NIS 2012. I'm running on a secure home computer and don't need to enter a master password to enable Identity Safe. What are my options to disable that feature?
Do you have a Local Profile or a Online Profile configured in your machine?
If you have a Local Profile then you will see the option in "Settings"->"Web" ->"Identity Safe" -> "Password & Security" UI but if you had configured Online Profile then you will not see this option.
There is "No password needed..." option in my version of Identify Safe. The option in the place where that message should be is "Ask for my password when resuming from suspend".
I used Identity Safe Setup to recreate a Local account, but I lost most of my logins from the Online Vault. It seems like you can have only Online or Local but not both and can't be logged onto both at the same time. I would like to import the Online Vault logins to my Local profile, but that might not be possible. Also, there may be no way to delete the Online Vault once everything is set up in Local.

Hi Tanderson,
We can create Local and Online vault in one computer, but we can access either local or Online at a time.If you log out from Online then you can log into local vice versa.
If you want to have logins to local vault, After logging into Online vault, please export your online vault identity safe data to .DAT format file. (Log into Identity safe(Online) -> Export data)
Then logout from Online vault and log in to Identity safe(Local) and import identity safe data using (Identity safe (local)->Import data) .DAT file which you have exported in Online vault.
If you want to Delete Online vault, follow this step: Login to Identity safe(Online)->Delete data
- read all posts regarding the insane password validation issue and solutions...none have worked for me
- removed NIS 2012 and reinstalled
- made sure Local vault is used and not on line vault
- exported data from another computer and imported without any change
- the other computer shows the 4th option in settings to disable password validation, but not this one...only diff. is this one is Windows 7 and the other is Vista
Can you provide the screenshot of "Log in to Identity safe dialog" before logging into Identity safe?
1.Can you try deleting the local vault(Log into Identity safe(Local)->Delete data) after taking a backup of identity safe data(Log into Identity safe(Local) -> Export data)
2.Create local vault without logging in to Norton account and import the identity safe data which you have taken already(Log into Identity safe(Local) -> Import data)
