No Safe Web Icons when using Bing with IE9

When I launch non-pinned sites in IE9, the Norton toolbar appears.  But when I do a search with Bing, the search list is not marked with the Safe Web icons (Green, gray or red).  Works fine with Google.  Is there a way to correct this in Bing.

Thanks

Hi sjohn_az-

I was not able to see the symptom you describe when trying to quickly repro it:

1) My configuration is NIS18.5.0.125 on Windows 7 x64.  I am running IE9 (32-bit).

2) I just go to www.bing.com and search for anything and can see the markup icons.

Can you please check + confirm in a reply some simple things:

1) what is your Windows version and IE9 version (final release version from Microsoft or did you get IE9 somewhere else?)

2) what is your OS region and language (in Windows 7, look for control panel -> region and language, location tab)

3) describe exactly how you search with Bing and see no markups - just like my simple sequence above?

Matt;

Thanks for your reply. In response to your questions:

1) what is your Windows version and IE9 version (final release version from Microsoft or did you get IE9 somewhere else?)

Win 7 64 bit , IE9 freshly downloaded from Microsoft

2) what is your OS region and language (in Windows 7, look for control panel -> region and language, location tab)

Location United States, Language English

3) describe exactly how you search with Bing and see no markups - just like my simple sequence above?

Go to www.bing.com, enter search term into box, screen fills with list of websites, but without markups.

Something else that is quite strange is happening.  When I go to the Bing main page (Bing.com) and perform a search the safe web icons do not appear.  If I go to MSN and put a term in the search box, MSN launches a search using Bing, but now the Safe Web icons all appear next to each website listed asssociated with the search term.  Can anyone make sense of this?

The same thing happens on my system with NIS11.  The safewb icons do not appear with Bing but do appear with MSN search.  I installed IE9 via Windows Update so it is the final version.  I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Compatability with IE9 is planned in early May. Untill then you can only use Identity Safe and page blocking.

Does auto-protect (and other protections) work correctly with IE9? I assume I have the same protection with IE9 as I did with IE8.  Correct?

I just tested IE9 with Bing search engine and it works fine. I see the safeweb icons just like if I used Google.

I see them in Google and Yahoo, but not Bing.

Not sure what happened, but the problem resolved by itself.  Now Icons appear in Bing search engine as well.

I found a similar thread here, which is resolved by resetting IE. Try that:

I am using Windows 7 32 bit and the Google beowser.  Recently the Identity Web icon dropped ut of my browser.  I need it as it does not always start when I am filling a form and wil not always catch a new login.  How can I restore the Identity Safe icon in the Google browser?

HI charley92845,

Google Chrome is not yet supported for the Norton Toolbar but this is planned for NIS 2012.
