After a new install of Norton 360 Deluxe on my desktop I immediately noticed there's no Smart Scan. The help/suggestions for dealing with this issue are of no use! I did a removal then a reinstall and update - to no avail. Also did a reboot. Smart Scan is still missing. Of note Windows 10 is up to date as well. Smart Scan is a part of Norton 360 Deluxe so why is it missing??? It's not an issue with my internet connection or my computer. The issue is with Norton. I and others who buy Norton 360 Deluxe are paying for something and we're not getting everything we paid for. I spent 2 hours this morning trying to resolve this. Calling Norton Tech Support was a waste of time. Why is there no fix for this? Someone at Norton needs to get up off their xxx and fix this. We shouldn't have to go around in circles trying to fix something that we users are no to blame for!
I and others need a solution not a bunch of useless help/suggestions that don't work!
Had same issue last October when an update was supposed to give user option to set default Smartscan/Quickscan in dashboard, option not there, but Smartscan & Messages still available. Thought was faulty install, done R&R, it updated version as installed the the current version but Smartscan & Messages then were completely missing. Done full remove, download Norton & fresh install, both still awol. Done another full remove but took the option of Install On New Device, both came back but still no option to set default - still not there. Why the first two methods did not install properly no idea.

My Norton 360 Deluxe v22.23.8.4 has Smart Scan.
I refreshed (uninstall - scour remnants - fresh downloader) my Norton 360 install a few days ago.
Sounds like you did similar.
Since, you ran R&R + Restart + LiveUpdate. Repeat LiveUpdate + Restart.
head scratch...is there just an empty space where Smart Scan button should be?
