I recently purchased 360 Deluxe for Mac so that I would stop paying for the Internet Security and VPN products separately. I now see that there is no visual indicator in the menu bar for when the VPN is or is not connected, only a tiny indicator for when the VPN is in the process of connecting. Given that Norton's VPN product is already feature-poor compared to your competitors in the VPN market, this seems like an easy UI fix that ya'll would be interested in making.
I agree. I am cancelling and uninstalling at the end of this service month. They don't appear to give a continental damn about Mac users, so they can keep their lousy POS product!
This failure to provide a connect/disconnect indicator is emblematic of the basic poor software quality of the VPN feature. I have to restart my computer in order to get VPN to work, if it works at all. The fix to uninstall and reinstall is a waste of time. This is clearly such a long reported problem that Norton should either fix it or remove it. In either case, we should receive a full refund for the cost. This looks like a practice project handed off to a high school intern, not tested, and then somehow got into the hands of the sales force.
In the Dog House.
p.s., such a shame. Years ago Norton had the best software for debugging crashed disks and general memory device maintenance. What happened to that excellent skill set?
