Were you to clear out all saved backups. How would you run backup?
There is a default set created.
Turn on “general backup settings for this pc”
that adds menu items
- Allow Windows Explorer context menu: Turn on this option to enable Add to Backup and Exclude from Backup options in the right-click context menu. When this option is turned on, you can right-click any file and add it to your backup without opening your Norton product.
Sorry I had a default backup set there which I renamed and then used “manage” to “sync” the files I had chosen.
Not sure why you have no default backup set

this machine with 24.8 never ran backup - with v22
my backup sets populating with 24.8 are from another machine
Suppose you installed 24.8 on a new machine…you’re thinking 24.8 auto-creates a default backup set?

just know there was one there for me when I over installed v24.8 on top of v22
and you already had a backup from v22 saved…so, it populated over to v24
Yes, my backups created/saved from v22…populated over to v24 = Backups of other devices
I already went 10 rounds with Chat support
I installed v24 on my dust collector machine…just to see what’s what
my daily rider remains v22 … at this time

Remove & Reinstall produced
Remove & Reinstall appears to have retained some of my 24.8 settings.
Maybe, I’ll try Remove only
Edit: An error occurred was cleared with another machine Restart and another Sign In…but, I’m back to square one. Backup of this PC = no backup sets

Since, you’ve never used Norton Cloud Backup. Please share what your 24.8 Cloud Backup reports. Backup of this PC = no backup sets? and do you see anyway to run backup?
for example: My Backups tab, click Back Up this PC
If your 24.8 did not auto-create a default backup nor offers how to create/save a backup … then I can stop trying to fix what ain’t working for me…because, it ain’t working for not just me.

Yes!… I was just coming back to post:
I cleared n’ scraped out all Norton on my daily rider machine…including all my cloud backups from my daily rider machine.
Now, I’ll (try to) do the same on my dust collector machine.
