NordVPN and Norton 360

I have been using as a VPN NordVPN for several years, when Norton changed to the Norton 360, I began to have internet problems.  As soon as I turn on NordVPN, the internet indicated that it was blocked. When the NordVPN was disconnected, the internet was on and there were no problems.  The Norton 360 is the only new program.

System is PC Windows 10 Current version as of this date.  There is no Message from Norton 360.

Question:   Is Norton 360 blocking NordVPN when the VPN is ON?

I will post a second time the procedures for inserting a screenshot into your posts. Here is how. Please use it as most people aren't going to open a pdf file from an untrusted source.

I have two items and each of them was listed several times.

Are these the type of files we were looking for?

Search in both. Blocked programs and/or connections will be there. If you find an entry of interest go down to the bottom right and click on "More Options". The next screen will be of importance and should be the one you get a screenshot of for review.

Did not understand how to get to the Firewall History.

Located two files, Firewall - Activities and Firewall - Network and Connections.

Which of these two do I search to find the History?

Which one do I go line by line to find the section on History?

Use this Norton article to learn how to view Norton history entries.

Sorry, but could you tell me how to find the Firewall History??

Do you see those blocks in your Norton firewall history? If so post a screenshot of those entries for review. Here is how to post a screenshot. A lot of information can be attained from history and make it easier for us to assist you.

Did the Norton Firewall  reset as indicated. In NordVPN with protocol NordLynx, OpenVPN(TCP), and OpenVPN(UDP) in use, they all were blocked by losing the internet.

Thanks for the post back. You also said..

This indicates that you have Norton 360 Standard at least, which includes its own VPN built-in. The Norton VPN DOES NOT automatically start with the system boot up. It is 100% manually activated.

So when you also said..

As soon as I turn on NordVPN, the internet indicated that it was blocked. When the NordVPN was disconnected, the internet was on and there were no problems.

Given that Norton VPN isn't enabled by reading that statement, NordVPN is the issue. Norton cannot be conflicting with it UNLESS you are also manually starting it with the NordVPN having already been started.

Since I believe you are trying to convey that Norton is somehow blocking your NordVPN, check the Norton Firewall within the Norton UI. Open settings then select Firewall. Reset the firewall and reboot. Lets see whether the Norton Firewall is blocking NORD. You should also check your Norton History in the Firewall Activities section to see if Nord is being blocked. If you haven't seen any notification from Norton that NORD is being blocked I can only assume it is allowing it to pass through the firewall. Please let us know what you find.

Just using one VPN.   NordVPN is the only one on my computers or other internet devices.

Are you loading the NORD VPN or another VPN with Windows startup? If you are, and then starting the Norton VPN you are conflicting. Two VPN's cannot run at the same time. I HOPE I am understanding what you are doing clearly.

I only use the NordVPN and none other.

It appears that the problem is the Protocol.  I tried several with the most current not working, nor OpenVPN(TCP), but OpenVPN(UDP) does work for a while.

As soon as I use the VPN the internet connection is lost.  Disconnect the VPN, and instantly the internet connection is back.

Never had this problem until recently after using Norton 360 which I have been using for the last 90 days.  Norton Security, which I use before, never gave me this sort of problem.

Any suggestion??

Hello. Having two VPN's on any system at the same time will present conflicts of usage. I recommend using one or the other not both at the same time.
