What do you mean by the fact that you downloaded it for the beta? Is it s beta build you use?

Well I have read it was a beta, I have just downgraded back to 2008 but it's still not working

and I downloaded it because it was an "update" but as I read it was a beta

I have probably worded it wrong :/ but my internet congifuration isnt working after i upgraded.

Please have a look  at the Upgrade Center

It's no beta anymore. It's a full up and running program now

Did you download it from the Symantec website or from somewhere else? If you downloaded it recently and did so from Symantec/Norton the beta version should have been long gone.

Sounds more like a system problem? Check this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/871122 on configuring zero configuration in case it helps.

I'm weak on networking but from the little I just read, if you turn off Zero Configuration (are you in XP or VISTA?)  then you have to configure the wireless network connection in some other way -- have you done this?

If you turn off something that configures it automatically and don't configure it specifically then it seems logical that you would not have a connection .... ?

i updated from my LiveUpdate center

yes i have used wireless zero configuration before, i manually connected already, but problems arose right when i upgraded from 2008 to 2009, and downgrading didnt help so i might as well redownload 2009

i am on XP

Thanks for the additional information. I hope someone can help you since networking is not something I understand in any depth. Hopefully someone who knows how and if NIS 2009 can “interfere” with wireless will be able to help you but be patient since it’s a weekend and some of the Norton Staff may not be around.

Please confirm for us the product you are using - we're assuming that it's Norton Internet Security 2009 (version 16) but I want to be sure you have the right version installed. Did you ever have the beta version of NIS or NAV 2009 installed on your system? How did you remove it? Thanks!

No i havent used the beta before, i used the norton uninstall program, and im using Norton Anti-Virus 2009

my wireless zero configuration seems to be working again after a few trys, but i have to manually connect everytime now

hopefully it will stay fixed

Are you using any firewall with NAV? NAV itself can’t do many harm to your wireless connection
