Issue abstract: I’m not sure what’s going on, but it seems my Cyberlink stopped recording audio from screen capture about the same time as others were complaining about the issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled 360 and Cyberlink. I disabled safecam, I’m gone through all my settings. OBS records fine, but it’s a little complicated.
Detailed description: As above. I’ve spent weeks troubleshooting the issue. Cyberlink support hasn’t been much help.
Product & version number: 4.0. Latest patch installed.
OS details: Win 11
What is the error message you are seeing? None

@Armen_Kurdian From what I am reading Cyberlink is a suite of apps/programs which have a big learning curve built into them. Reddit users are also posting its actually not compatible with Windows 11. Is your Windows 11 install running in S mode or is your CPU ARM 64?
Which of these CL products are you having your issue with?
Hi, thanx for the response. Using Screen Recorder 4.3.0.19614. That’s it. Everything else Cyberlink has been uninstalled.
I’m not in S-Mode, using Win 11 Pro. Been using Win 11 for awhile, though I did switch laptops in February, but it seems the problem started before then, though I didn’t notice it until last month (I had been doing screen captures and just assuming they worked).
I have gone and switched every audio setting on the computer I can find, and going back to default settings. I’m just completely out of ideas. I saw online that others were having this same problem.
I have a notional suggestion that MAY be a part of the sound issue due to Window Recall and some Windows updates being installed and driver compatibility, on and after December 2024. By chance do you have Recall enabled? If so please disable it and reboot, recheck for us.
Potential Update Conflicts:
Some Windows users have reported sound issues after installing specific updates, such as the December 2024 update. These issues might be related to driver conflicts or other problems introduced by the update, not Recall itself.
To turn off Windows Recall, navigate to Settings > Privacy & security > Recall & snapshots and toggle off “Save snapshots”. Alternatively, you can disable Recall through the “Turn Windows features on or off” menu in the Control Panel or through Group Policy Editor if you’re on Windows 11 Pro, Enterprise, or Education.
Poster SuperSherlock states they corrected their issue having figured out that when recording screen recorder gets locked into the sound output device being used vice the system default. AKA headphones. Have you tested this theory yet?
I appreciate your tenacity. That didn’t work, I think I had tried that previously. Right now I rebooted the laptop with no HDMI or headphone cable connected so the only audio output was the internal speaker.
I have an older laptop at home, one I transferred away from several months ago. I’m going to try to use it to see if I can get that to work. If not, I will try my wife’s laptop. Not convenient, but out of ideas.
I went to a laptop I stopped using earlier this year. It still has Windows 10 on it. It worked. This laptop has Windows 11. The old laptop is slow as molasses but still works, so that’s my only remaining option.
Yes. They suggested uninstalling Norton and trying again. Obviously didn’t work. I’m just going to have to use the old laptop. Without someone else actually at my laptop to troubleshoot I’m out of ideas. Unless there is a really good screen capture program out there that works. Lot of suggestions for OBS, but what I really liked for Cyberlink was the custom option for where to record the screen. OBS is a little hard to follow. I used to use Movavi, I may go back to them.
