Thanks for the response, appreciate it.

I'm still having some trouble with point 1.

The error happens about one in three/four times.

I guess I don't really mind, but just if it helps your devs or whatevr.

You'll continue to have this problem until the Firefox 3 patch for Norton 360 is released. I apologize for the inconvenience.

same problem here: running FF3 on win XP Pro, firefox process keeps running, at some times I even get 5 or more firefox processes that keep running. after some time i get this screen: a completely blank page.empty ff3 page

4 firefox processes running, while no browser open

and when will there be an update for the phishing toolbar in the dutch version? i've tried updating n360 v2 a lot of times, but still no update available???

N360 version

and since there is no dutch support via email  available (which I don't get, it says on the box that there is chat-support and emailsupport)since i'm working during office hours I NEVER get to use the support unless I go to the UK website, which CAN be contacted through email. Free and unlimited support via email and chat.... NO WAY! I'll just ask what I need to know overhere.

Best regards.

First of all, I like Norton 360 and think it is a huge improvement.

However, there still are some issues that I would like some help with.

Point 1.

I recently upgraded to firefox 3, don't be fooled by the skin, and get this error if I launch firefox twice before a reboot. (Close, then open).

Screenshot is just like that cause I was in a rush, actually only one open.

First of all, when I first open it it directs me to a blank homepage, ?!!?

Pressing home will give me the screenshot, note the lack of a url in the location bar.

Error

Picture 2

Normal

In general since installing norton 360 I have noticed that the firefox process never stops running unless manually ended.

This is frustrating as it uses extra ram and causes random things to break.

Manually ending all firefox processes then restarting FF cures the problem, but that's really not the point.

EDIT: After rebooting the pictured problem has ceased, however the multiple processes still remain.

Point 2.

I find the way that Norton interacts with firefox in general to be frustrating. For example, even if you don't have the setting in

norton ticked to clear firefox private data it refuses to let you do it manually, simply never opening the window if you chose the option.

I know this to be Norton related, as it worked in the few days before their firefox patch was out.

Even after unticking the firefox cleanup option Norton still does it. o.0

The phising protector also gets on my nerves, I find it annoying how it

a) uses extra bandwidth

b) overlaps with the firefox phising / my common sense which I more than trust

c) bright green + dark black theme = ewww.

I appreciate the feature for the other users of the computer but would like if I could either remove any norton association with firefox or

remove the phising protection/ norton association on my username only.

Point 3

Just a quick one, but I read on a link from google that the way to get norton to manually scan files, (eg through msn or other prog) is to direct the program to the stub.exe (stubscanner? can't remember name right now) But have found that this just hangs and never actually completes.

Sorry about the rant, but just as a user these features or even some funky manual fix that I could do would really

improve my norton 360 experience.

Any suggestions/help appreciated.

Thanks,

Justin

Hi reyals,

You are correct; the update for Firefox 3 has not been released. Please see THIS THREAD for an update when the patch has been released. Thanks!

We're glad you like Norton 360 v2. As to your Firefox 3 issues, we are currently working on a patch that will resolve issues with Firefox 3. Please see the following thread for the latest information on this patch:

http://community.norton.com/norton/board/message?board.id=Norton_360&thread.id=1041

As to the Clean Up Private Data problem, check out this post for more information:

For point #3, I've heard this workaround is effective with Norton AntiVirus and Norton Internet Security, but not with Norton 360. I'm sorry for this inconvenience. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns, we're always glad to help. Thanks!
