Norton 360 and limited connectivity wifi message

Purchased Norton 360 today and tried to install on family PC, which runs Vista Home Premium sp2 and was running previously  Norton Internet

360 appeared to load Ok and during the upload it removed a number of software packages, however after restarting the pc I could no longer connect to the internet, with it giving a limited connectivity message.  I looked at the forum and tried some of the varies suggestions without any luck, I have now removed Norton 360 from the Pc and the wifi is working fine.

I am unaware that I am running any secondary security software, any comments or suggestions appreciated

Thanks

I get that occasionally and I use the Windows troubleshooters to diagnose and fix the problem.

Look in the system tray for your Wifi connectivity icon and click on it. Then click on the link to open Network and Sharing Center. At the top you will see a diagram of your network starting at your computer and ending up at the internet. When you have limited connectivity you should see a exclamation mark or an X between one of the segments. Click on the X or exclamation mark to start the troubleshooter.

Thanks for the reply but I have tried the windows trouble shooter option on numerous occasion without success, I have tried to load Norton again since the original post and had the same issues, I have since removed it and the wifi is working OK again.

Thanks

You mention you are not aware of any other security software. Have you checked in Control Panel or your All Programs listing from the Start button to see if anything is listed? Even if you had something installed in the past, even a trial, it could be conflicting with Norton if it was not removed with the appropriate removal utility.

As you changed from NIS to 360, it might be necessary to do a full reinstall using the Norton Removal Tool. This does a more thorough unistall than Windows alone.

Download the Norton Removal Tool from here   www.norton.com/nrt
If you use Identity Safe, backup/export your data. Use the CSV format for compatibility.
Uninstall your Norton product with Windows control panel.
Reboot.
Run the Norton Removal Tool.
Reboot.
Log into your Norton Account from here   www.account.norton.com
Click on the Download button beside your current product subscription. This will download and install a preactivated copy of your product.
Run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
Try to log into your Identity Safe. If you can, you are done. If not, Import your Identity Safe data.

Are you able to connect to wifi if you turn off/disable the Smart Firewall in Norton 360? Did you try configuring the Network Map in Norton 360 for allowing access to your WiFi device? Refer to the following link to configure Network Map:
