Norton 360 and MalwareBytes ver 1.60

This is partially a sanity check for me. I am running WindowsXP Pro/SP3 with latest version of Norton 360 and latest version of MalwareBytes 1.60. The computer functions and all applications work, but I noticed that with MalwareBytes 1.60, it probes Norton module ccSvcHst.exe  4 to 6 times every minute, non-stop. Norton does it's job of intercepting the probe, marking it as a medium level attack. My 'problem' is that this adds up to several hundred such probes an hour and thousands every day in the Norton log. I reported the problem to MalwareBytes techsupport and their response is that they have no plans to fix this as the computer and applications still run normally. This seems to be a performance issue though, and shouldn't be happening. The prior version, 1.50, did not do this, nor any prior version. It just began with their version 1.60. Am I worryying unnecessarily? That is, should I be concerned with several hundred such attacks/probes an hour? To me it seems an issue, but to MalwareBytes it's nothing. I'll appreciate some feedback. Right now, I'm running their prior version, 1.50. Thanks much.

The Norton Product Tamper Protection events are not an issue.  Norton routinely blocks any outside program from accessing its files and processes, and this, in itself, usually causes no performance issues at all for either program.  Running two programs that use real-time protection together on the same machine may cause performance or other problems, however, and is not recommended (although some claim that Malwarebyte's does not cause such issues).

Thanks for your feedback. I agree that two programs in real time can cause problems and that is my concern. MaywareBytes in the past has not - and even has an "Ignore list" to prevent such collisions but it doesn't work for the Norton program. However, I think you are agreeing that this could be a performance issue. True? Or am I misunderstanding? I don't notice it much; it's mostly a feeling that it shouldn't be happening.

The blocks are not themselves anything that should produce performance issues.  You can ignore those.  Malwarebytes', no matter how often it tries, will not be able to access Norton data but should continue to go on about its business, otherwise.  See this similar thread that was coincidentally also started today:

Okay, I'll close my issue. I do like running Malwarebytes in realtime mode because it does an excellent job of intercepting rogue web attacks and sometimes finds viruses before Norton - but I see that there aren't any real solutions until/unless Malwarebytes makes a fix - and I am hoping that is the case. Thanks for your patience in discussing this. I'll mark this solved.
