There are so many alerts and ads that I'm seriously considering dumping norton. I tell norton not to show me this again, but it's to no avail. It finds thousands (there aren't); out of date drivers (they aren't), and if I upgrade they can fix all my nonexistent issues. How do I turn this crap off?
Norton 360; Win 10; to duplicate, just wait a while.
and some have reported issues trying to use it to "update"
i my self had what can only be called false alerts ( one of which i have never had on my device ) claiming some program or app needs updating
not long ago when the latest patch/build was released i had this
was either the same day or the night prior i just happened to look around on my laptop and saw i had 26 " issues" in the software updater, never have i had that before ( 1 or 2 at most if any), i check what it "found" made a list, double checked with the programs itself and online on update version and release dates ( none of them were out of date and all current)
turn off laptop for night next morning i check again out of curiousity and by magic found nothing
i have never seen any type of prompt , alert , message etc... saying anything in regard to the software updater
best advice trust the microsoft store ( apps etc..)
and windows update ( optional updates for drivers, etc..)
