Norton 360 AntiSpam with Outlook 2007 results in Enter Network Password over and over

I upgraded to Norton 360 6.1.2.10 and enabled AntiSpam.

Immediately Outlook 2007 SP3 (on Windows 7) began repeatedly asking "Enter Network Password" for each of my three email accounts.  (And would not accept the correct password.)

Within Norton 360 I turned off AntiSpam (360> Settings > AntiSpam).

Within Outlook I disabled the AntiSpam add-in / plugin: (Outlook > Tools > Trust Center > Add-ins > Manage: Com Add-ins >

uncheck Norton AntiSpam Outlook Plugin)

Outlook 2007 is functioning correctly once again.

I'd love to be able to use the AntiSpam feature (someone got a hold of one of my addresses and spams the heck out it) but obviously email with spam is better than no email at all.  Suggestions on getting Norton 360 AntiSpam to work will be most welcome.

Hi utilajeff,

Please try any of the below solutions, if you had not tried them already and let us know if it works for you..

1. Rename the .srs file for your affected account to something else and try Send /Receive. Outlook must recreate another .srs file for your mail account if it does not find one with the right file name. This can rectify any errors / corruptions that might have gone into Send/Receive Settings.

Location for .srs file:   C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\

2. If possible, try recreating your email account pointing to the same .pst file to which the affected mail account is currently pointing. Please be doubly sure that you do not miss any configuration details of your account when doing this.

In case, one of the above solutions works for you, we will be able to identify where exactly the issue is.

Also, do you have any other third party plugin clubbed with outlook?

Thank you, sneha_renga.

Solution #1 solved my problem.  After recreating the .srs file I turned Antispam back on within Norton 360 and re-enabled the add-in.  I'm now picking up messages without the password issue and spam messages are going to the Junk folder.

Active third-party add-ins on the Outlook add-in list include Outlook Change Notifier (Apple).

Inactive add-ins include iTunes Outlook add-in.
