It's been like that for months!
Please advise urgently!
The app closing happens regardless of any action or non action within the app.
Is it POSSIBLE that it might be related with the fact that my storage is 95% full?
Or has a virus, keylogger, remote control app or other hostile takeover app found its way onto my phone that closes norton?
I can't use the scan functionality because, as I said, the app closes shortly after opening.
Another side effect that's only been happening on my phone since yesterday (where, as said, norton has been closing for months!) is that some other apps are closing as well (nova launcher is the one I recall atm - there were more, but certainly NOT ALL apps were affected)
That is a little drastic. But as you noted other apps have started behaving the same, it might be worth while.
Yes you would be using the same activation as long as you are installing on the same device. When you install 360 again, during the installation process, look for a link to Sign In, or I already have a subscription. Tap that and sign into your Norton Account to activate the product again.
You can always post here if you run into any issues reinstalling Norton.
Hm, I think it probably would be the cleanest to wipe the entire phone and start from scratch.
Can I use the same license I used for that device until now?
If so, how do I do this? (Or will Norton automatically recognize that this is the same device due to the MAC adress or IMEI number or something like that?)
Can you think of any changes to your device around the time this started happening? OS update or new apps added?
I would suggest reinstalling your Norton 360. Uninstall the app and restart the device. Then reinstall the app, sign into your Norton Account to activate the app, and test.
Hi Peter, am using a Huawei P20 Pro on Android 8.
As said, this issue has persisted for at least 3 months now, so restarts have been done plenty over that time, and also over the last couple of days, in fact the phone's been turned off for the majority of the last 72 hours.
And while I said that the storage was 95% full, the phone has 128GB, so there are still several GB left. I checked yesterday and it said 5GB available space. Is that really possible that Norton 360 fills up 5GB of HD space while just being open, not even actively scanning?
What device are you using?
If you have not already done so, try restarting your device and test.
It still may have something to do with the storage being nearly full. Look through your apps to see if there are any you can do without. Remove them, restart your device and test.
