Just returned to my old PC that has Norton 360 installed to compare the Norton 360 options with the Norton Internet Security options on my new PC. Norton 360 is now reporting that the PC is no longer protected because SONAR is not on.
I have tried switching it on but it doesn't stick, as soon as I close the window the switch is reset.
I see on other threads and on the internet that many have had this problem with 360 and that it has been attributed to a conflict with other antiviral products such as Norton Internet Security. The general line being that the other product, like Norton Internet Security, was not properly removed and traces of it remain. When 360 is installed the conficts arise.
Well that sounds good as a theory but in my case at least it cannot be true. The only antivirus product that has ever been on this (the old) PC is Norton 360 and a few months ago it was working perfectly.
Pretty sure no one else has been using the computer and I did a througher look through all folders and through the registry for any trace of Norton Internet Security just in case but found nothing.
If my memory serves me correctly I think I had 360 do a registry cleanup just before switching to the new PC, - could that have done anything to disrupt the SONAR functionality in 360?
