Well, I just spent 2 hours on the phone with the 360 chat people, and it seems now I know why it is called 360 chat…we go around in circles. I upgraded to this 360v2 and selected the backup of my photos. It backed up wallpaper and gifs, but all of my pics are lost. Family vacation pics, overseas stuff…you know the kind of thing you can’t replace. I chose Norton because it was ‘secure’, and had a good rep. Shouldn’t have. Gone, poof. Secure…no. Big ole waste of time and money…yes. Makes me wonder about the firewall and virus protection now. Tad jaded…betcha.
That is what I mean…they are gone. The tech did a remote monitoring of my system and they couldn’t find them…nothing in the back up of Norton…gone.
Are you using this same machine now to post? Do you have another?
I've used freeware utiltities to recover deleted files from a camera card -- and I used Norton Protected Recycle Bin when it was around bless it -- A google on undelete utilities produces many references including this as the first one:

I know nothing about it however but read what it says about using it without causing further damage, like installing the exe file on a thumbdrive.
Hello Asa,
I've asked the moderator for your contact information and will contact you shortly. Please standby for an off-line email.
Matt
If you mean the originals are gone then the sooner you check out restoring from the recycle bin and possibly using an undelete utiltity the better the chance you have of restoring them -- but I hope that is not what you mean.
If it is I'm serious about not using the computer until you've used a recovery tool
