You can restore from the older backups in the cloud storage. My point is that those backups are taking up some of the storage space you are allowed in your subscription. If you do not need the space you can leave them there.
Your new backup sets you are using will notify you if you are running out of space, or if you do not have enough space for your current backup.
I do have some old backup sets in the Norton Cloud storage and also on a USB drive. Do you mean that I wouldn't be able to restore files from them after the reinstall ?
As you did a reinstall, you may want to log into your Norton Account and be sure to delete any backup set that was created before the reinstall. Otherwise, your storage space will be limited and may restrict your current backups.
Unfortunately, killing that process and restarting with Tamper Mode off didn't make any difference except that the process with the red cross didn't restart.
Thanks for all your help, I think I'll call it a day now and have a go at reinstalling tomorrow.
4) after clean Norton 360 install > run Norton LiveUpdate a few times + machine Restart (not Shut down) a few times. Repeat. Norton 360 = 22.23.9.9 (at this time)
5) Review Norton Settings to your preference. Create Backup Sets to your preference.
6) run Norton 360 Full Scan (once)
7) run Norton LiveUpdate + machine Restart (not Shut down)
I have scratched my head and also ran the autofix which didn't find any errors.
I don't know how the application checks to see if a backup is running. It must either search for running processes or have a flag set within the application when a backup starts which is then reset when the backup ends. If that's the case, there may be a corruption somewhere within the configuration which needs to be cleared.
