Norton 360 Blocking Sonos access to Music Library running Big Sur

I have Norton 360 8.6 build 175 on a Mac running Big Sur, initial problems as with other users were repeated popups in spite of allowing access in Connection Blocking, including access to my Music Library through Sonos. In exasperation I contacted Norton Support who on the 2nd January 2021 advised that this issue had been resolved by an update to 8.6.1 which would be rolled out within 24hrs of my call, one week later still nothing so I contacted them again.

This time I was advised to uninstall and reinstall the product which I did and was initially pleased that the majority of popups ceased after I had allowed the connections (however this was still only version 8.6) however my relief was short lived when I tried to access my Music Folder through Sonos only to find access denied.

Fast forward 20 man hours of my time using the excellent posts on this Community, and a constructive discussion and analysis with Sonos and you have guessed it the problem comes back to Norton! Put simply if I turn off the Norton Firewall I get IMMEDIATE access to my Music Folder if I turn it back on I am again denied access.

I cannot put into words my frustration and disappointment with Norton over this issue, as a loyal customer for more than 10 years I feel totally abandoned and let down. I agree with the numerous posts on this site who feel they are left with no choice but to uninstall Norton and choose another provider of Antivirus that will work correctly with Big Sur, but why should we when this product is advertised as totally compatible with Big Sur, will we receive a full refund, I very much doubt it.

Would appreciate any response to my situation, will 8.6.1 when it finally appears resolve the problems, and if so when will it be available?
