Detailed description: Thunderbird e-mail application suddenly useless a few days ago. Using Thunderbird, I could not send or receive e-mails. Substantially the same issue exists on both of my Win7 machines, and on one of my two Win10 machines. All have Norton subscriptions.
After many frustrating house, I found that Norton now includes an e-mail inspection routine. When I disabled e-Mail inspection feature on my Win7 desk top machine and restarted machine, Thunderbird resumed working.
Is the the Norton email inspection tool compatible with Mozilla Thunderbird? If so, how do I get the two to work together?

I too have problem that Norton is blocking Thunderbird from retrieving Gmail messages unless I authorize ignoring the warning. Until late February 2025, everything worked fine, and then something changed which killed Thunderbird-Gmail on all my machines, even my Win10 machines. I use T-bird 115.18.0 (32 bit) because it is the latest version that will work with Windows7. (Yes , Win7, because I vastly prefer it to Win10+ )., I think it has something to do with Gmail recently insisting the imap protocol and Norton not having a “permission” for that protocol. Any ideas.?
