Norton 360 Dashboard update

Last night I was running a security scan (scan now) from the dashboard accessed as administrator when Norton 360 suddenly closed. I reopened Norton 360, again as admin, to find a vastly different dashboard. It seems that there has been an update that changed the usual table based colourful interface to a more textual based web interface. I don’t like the new format. Can the dashboard display be changed back to the familiar format? Also, following the update, there seems a much slower response to dashboard activity. Anyone else noticed this change?

Looks as though you have probably been auto updated to version 24.xxx from the previous 22.24.xx, this is a completely different creature, a lot of previous features have been omitted, other features remain although user options have disappeared, where you could turn OFF certain items, that option no longer available. If you have a day or two, just have a look at Norton 360 forum - appears, in reality, this has probably been released much to early, us paying users being used again to test. No way to revert back to ‘OLD’ version.

Yes, I thought that might be the case. It will take a while to run through the differences but switching from a simple graphical interface to some web based textual menu system seems more like a precursor to a web-based monthly subscription service. My advice to Norton is - don’t go there. When you stand above a crowd there is no benefit in simply joining it.

Be wary - I had Software Updater set to Auto OFF, SWU auto updated Firefox, checked settings - Be wary - I had Software Updater set to Auto OFF, SWU auto updated Firefox, checked settings - Auto WAS OFF. Firefox updates I have set to MANUAL - what gives NORTON the right to Interfere and CHANGE MY settings - blatant case of invasion of PRIVACY - ILLEGAL in this country. Big brother from Norton again!
