Norton 360 downloads too much data itself while online

I installed it in XP and Windows 8. But i noticed while i'm online, Norton 360 downloads too much data. I closed all updates, configure it Restricted and Economic, but still it keep downloads too much. Norton 360 is for unlimited bandwith users or my traffic rules or firewall settings are wrong? Before 360 my connection was fine and downloading are allright. Now i can't connect at one time. And how about Norton Antivirus? Is it include firewall settings or Network configuring functions? My windows 8 firewall can handle my internet. I don't need firewall, or complex network functions. Just it check viruses, that's enough for me

Help me through this downloading problem please. I don't want install 360, or buy new Norton

500 mb in 1 hour

Hi milanmilano

Norton 360 has a firewall and antivirus and on a windows 8 system it will manage the windows firewall and windows defender.  On the XP system it will need the windows firewall and the windows defender to be manually turned off.

500mb is far to much data for Norton.

Which computer is it downloading 500mb on and can you check in Norton history to see the time and date of the updates and if the update completed, to check the frequency of the updates you can go to history, on the left hand drop down box click on full history then enter, Liveupdate session, in the search box on the right hand side of the window and click go, copy and paste what’s between the commas because if there’s a gap between live and update it won’t work (well it doesn’t on my version of NIS 2012). If you double click on anywhere on the update in the list it will open a window that has more details, there is a small box with a plus sign in it on the right hand side of, Total updates applied, click on this and a drop down list will show that can be scrolled in.

Can you post an image of the Norton history-using screen capture and the paint programme or use the snipping tool (see help and support from the start menu).

How to post an image in the Norton forum, link below.  Please check that personal information is edited out this can be done using the paint programme see help and support from the start menu.  Your image may take some time for a moderator to validate it, until then you will see a box with a triangle in it.
