Norton 360 Error: 8504, 106

Dear All,

I have Norton 360 installed on my computers (O/S: Windows Vista) for more than 3 years. Most of time, it ran smoothly without any problem.

Last month around the release date of WINDOWS 10, I noticed that I could no longer see the Norton icon at the lower right corner of status bar. When I clicked on the Norton icon on the desktop, the Norton window did not show up either. After waiting for about one minute, a "Norton Autofix" window would pop up, indicating "Scan Stopped" and "has encountered an error 8504,106".

I contacted the Norton techical support and let them remotely controlled my computer to resolve the issue. The technician turned my UAC off, delete the old Norton files, and update my Norton 360 product to the lastest updates. Eventually, my Norton 360 was up and running again.

However, when later on I turned on the UAC, I encountered the same error code: 8504, 106.

I thought this is a temporary issue due to the update for WINDOWS 10, so I didn't contact the technical support and just waited for new updates to fix the problem. Unfortunately, until now, I still cannot run Norton 360 with UAC turned on.

I wonder if there is any fix for this issue?

p.s., On my the other WINDOWS 8 computers, I don't have this problem. The error only happens on my VISTA computer.
