Norton 360 Firewall blocking remote desktop connection

Hi

I'm trying to connect to another computer on my home network using remote desktop connection. The connection times out saying cannot connect, dropping the Norton 360 firewall allows me to connect to the other PC Ok.

I went into the firewall settings and found an entry for remote desktop connection. The settings are:

  • MSTSC
  • Allow
  • Direction: In/out
  • Computer: Any
  • Communication: Any

So if it's set to allow as above why can I not connect through the firewall to the other computer (the other computer doesn't have a firewall and as I say if I drop the firewall connection can be made Ok)?

Hi thanks for the reply. I think that I do need rap as I want access to the desktop, control panel and all other parts of the machine not just shared folders.

Is the Network Trust Level "Shared"?

Sorry I don't see a shared option I have full trust, restricted and use default trust (protected)
