Norton 360 firewall blocking server

Norton 360 is blocking an application that logs on to a server with certain ports.  I've tried creating a rule with the ip address and ports, seems to run once and then blocks it again the second time in.  If I turn the firewall off it will work perfectly.  I tried putting the rule at the top of the list and that didn't help either.  I need to know how to successfully create a rule for this.  Can anyone help?

Check the Program Control settings for the firewall.  Is the application listed there and, if so, is access set to "Auto" or "Allow?"  Creating rules can get a bit tricky, as you are finding out.  It is much easier and more reliable to simply tell the firewall to permit the program to access the network.

I have "allowed" the program to run in the program controls.  Still doesn't work.

Can you see the server listed in your Network Security Map? If it is, then add the server to Full Trust of Network Security Map.
