I’m using windows 11 home on a MSI laptop. I have all the settings correctly set for the VPN but when I turn on my laptop the VPN doesn’t automatically turn on and my Internet still works even though I have the Killswitch set to on. I use an Ethernet for my internet. This problem only started like 2 weeks ago. Before that I never had any problems. I’ve already tried repairing and reinstalling nortons 360 for gamers but it doesn’t fix it. Was there some update that messed it up? Does anyone else have this problem?
From the 360 home screen, click on the Secure VPN button on the right side, then click on Open Secure VPN. On the Connection tab, turn on the VPN. Then on the settings tab, scroll down and be sure you have turned on the setting Reconnect after restarting.
The Kill Switch is a protection that when the VPN has been on and it looses connection to the VPN servers, it cuts all connection to the internet until you can restore the VPN.
Yeah, I spent all morning and finally got the AI support to admit that you can’t have just the VPN without the rest of the “features” despite the features locking my streaming, public network, all of my stuff. (I couldn’t connect to my PC from my VR headset, I couldn’t use only a public network, I couldn’t end the tasks and forced a hard reset.
I only want the VPN, but yeah, apparently Norton 360 for gamers is the VPN plus mandatory bloat that has issues.
That’s not a protection, that’s a dependency. If it locks down internet access without the restored VPN.
When I say it is a protection, I meant that if you have the VPN on and are being protected by that feature, if it somehow loses connection to the VPN servers, without the Kill Switch feature you would not know that the VPN had stopped protecting you.
