Issue abstract:

NORTON 360 Generates incorrect Alert for browser extension. The attached displays the alert. However, I verified that the Safe Search extension browser is installed.

Because of this erroneous ALERT generated by Norton, I have had to turn off alerts.

Protect your searches with Norton Safe Search reads like notice for Norton Safe Web users that the Norton Safe Web extension will stop providing the ratings to all search engines except for Norton Safe Search.

And to continue seeing site ratings, Norton Safe Web users will need to install the Norton Safe Search extension.

There is no progress. I have decided to turn-off all ALERT notifications. Here are 2 examples:

  1. Extension not installed. I determined that all extensions were in fact installed. I acknowledge that I need to use NORTON HOME to view norton safe search green marks.
  2. Driver Update. I used trial period. The recommendations for driver updates were incorrect for NVIDIA and Intel drivers. The forced me to reinstall the old versions. I declined future use of driver update process.
    From my perspective, this issue is closed as I justed wanted to note my experience.

Sounds like Gen Norton has went all in on cashing out, I used to love Safe Web but REFUSE to install Browser Hijacking Safe Search just so Norton can steal my browsing data. It feels like anti-friendly now.
