Norton 360 hacking on Windows 7

I was WFH on my old computer which has windows 7 installed.  I access work files through citrix.  My work emails were hacked and a phishing email sent to everyone I have had contact with through work.  My IT department advise that Norton would not prevent this because I have windows 7.  All work systems and computer have been checked OK.  I've been told that my home computer is now compromised but nothing showing on any scans through Norton.  Advice please?

Hello DKng. Right away, one issue is Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft, since 2020. Making is less secure than it should be.  Please read the below article: *Note you can still upgrade to Windows 10 and activate it with your Windows 7 product key. I would do a clean install since you may be compromised.

Norton does support Windows 7 with a service pack still, although, it is in maintenance mode and restricted to definition updates and voided of new features being added. Norton, WILL NOT screen for messages being sent FROM your employer email server yet it WILL screen for messages being received and sent on your end. I would confer further with your employer for that resolution.

Reading the following suggest that your e-mail ( work related or personal ) has been compromised, most likely as the result of a recent data breach and your e-mail is being used for spreading malware phishing message. Your employer should assign you another e-mail address and disable the one that is breached. If your personal e-mail is the issue, I suggest getting another new e-mail address.
