Norton 360 malware protection

I have had Norton 360 for several years. Yet, in spite of daily system scanning, my computers became infected by malware to the point of requiring a professional to go through the registry line by line and scrub the system.  I was advised to get Malware Bytes because Norton 360 only protects against viruses, not malware.  Is this true?  Do I need something like Malware Bytes to use in connection with Norton 360?  Is their a Norton 360 "Turbo" that provides anti-malware protection like Malware Bytes?

Hi sheets07,

Norton protects against all forms of malware.  That being said, no product catches 100% of the malware that is in the wild and there is no assurance that Malwarebytes' would have blocked the infection either.  And you cannot run two real-time products together.  Running security software is only one measure that you need to take to protect your PC.  You also need to keep your operating system and applications fully up-to-date, properly configure your browser to be as secure as possible, and practice other good habits.  Adding more categories of protection that you already have (anti-malware software) doesn't really make you any safer - but making your system as secure as you can and practicing safe surfing will add more layers of protection, making it that much more difficult for malware to get onto your system.

EDIT - I see I have basically just reiterated what Krusty13 said.  We do tend to agree on these things.  :smileyhappy:
