hello
after windows 8.1 last update. i cant start my norton 360, cant do scan on file, and can not access my vault in toolbar ( it write system restart needed). what i need to do? ( i already restarted my computer).

Help, norton is no longer working. I have tried to uninstall old version but it wont work. I have installed norton 360, that I have on my laptop. My computer has not internet access at all. When I click on norton icon nothing happens at all.

1. Navigate to the following location:
C:\Program Files\Norton 360\Engine\5.*

2. Double-click on uistub.exe and check if it opens without any problem.

Thanks very much. When I followed your instructions I was able to open the program, even the desktop icon was now functional, but when I restarted the computer the same thing happened again. Said program moved or changed.

Check if you have any other security products such as Microsoft Antispyware or Spybot search and destroy. if yes, remove them.

 

If you are using a Dell machine ,check for a software named Embassy Trust Suite (may referred as Wave Systems), remove it and check.


If not,

 

Try the below mentioned steps :

 

1 Click the Start button, and then click All Programs > Accessories > Run.
2 In the Run dialog box, type the following text, and then click OK:
regedit
3 If the User Account Control window appears, click Yes.
4 In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify
5 In the right pane, right-click the following value and then click Delete:
IconStreams
6 In the right pane, right-click the following value and then click Delete:
PastIconStream
7 Exit the Registry Editor.
8 Exit all the programs, and then restart your computer. 

 

Note : Please take a baackup of your regsitry before attempting this.

have you tried to reboot the computer  sometimes this helps, or did you try to upgrade to version 6
