No where was I informed or prepared by Symantec/Norton for the mess that is the Norton 360 Incompatibility Problem when upgrading to the free Windows 10 operating system provided by Microsoft. Here is the issue:
When I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7, the Norton 360 that had already been installed on my computer and running perfectly until the upgrade was deemed "Incompatible" and therefore not carried over during the Upgrade. Now, Symantec/Norton has not created a Norton 360 that is compatible to Windows 10 even though they (like all of us in the world) knew that in July of 2015 that the Windows 10 Upgrade was going to be made available for FREE to all current Windows 7 and Windows 8 users. What? Was everyone asleep at Symantec/Norton? They knew this Windows 10 was coming at least a year ago.
So here is the real problem. After the Windows 10 Upgrade finished I have no Norton protection on the computer. What's worse, there is no Norton 360 product to download and install on my now Windows 10 computer. So I'm totally unprotected and therefore unable to use the computer for fear of catching a virus.
Usually I would just go to my Norton account and de-activate the software, re-install a fresh copy of Norton 360 on the new Operating System and re-activate the new install by entering the product Key saved in my Norton Account. But without a Norton 360 that is installed or that can be installed on my new Windows 10 computer, the Product Key subscription is useless.
You can't do a update to the Norton 360 22.5 version if the software isn't already installed on the machine to begin with. And since during the Upgrade, while Microsoft was installing the upgrade they denied the Norton 360 product from being accepted, that solution possibility is of no usel.
Anyone got any ideas how to solve this dilemma? Would appreciate the help and ideas.
