I just upgraded from NIS to Norton 360 Multi-Device. I am trying to set up back-ups to the onlline storage, but my account info says I have 0MB. My subscription should have come with 25MB. How do I get the storage space activated? Instructions, if any, are too hard for me to find.
My hard disk crashed and I was forced to put in a new hard disk. I bought on-line storage in May backed up my files, but now am not able to restore my files to my new HD. Am I doing something wrong. I can see the storage, but it on has two actions Open a file and Email file links.
Can you please share a screenshot of the window where you don't see the activate link for online backup? Also, you can login to account.norton.com with your norton account credentials and check if the storage amount is displayed as 25GB under your N360 product listed there.
You can try to re-enable online backup by following these steps.
1. Goto https://manage.norton.com and sign in with your Norton Account credentials (the email ID which you used to register the product)
2. Goto 'My Account' tab and select your current product (N360 Multidevice). Confirm that storage amount is displayed correctly. It will also list the devices with Remove license option. Remove the license of your computer by clicking on trash can
3. Open N360 product and click 'Support' in main UI. Choose 'Subscription Status' and sync the product. It will ask you to activate the product again.
4. Enter the key of N360 multidevice and activate
5. Goto 'Manage backup sets' and try to activate backup again (Note: If backup pillar is disabled after activating the product, enable it and try to enable online backup)
I got the problem fixed. Unfortunately I traded it for a worse problem.
I got on a chat with Tech Support, gave the tech control of my PC and watched him try a bunch of stuff I had already done then uninstall, edit registry, delete files, reinstall, etc. Finally he discovered that the problem was that the Symantec user database had a zero in the field that shold have contained 25GB. One he updated the database all was well as far as online storage was concerned.
Unfortunately somewhere along the line something happened to make it so when I open the Identity Safe vault it causes my web browsers to stop responding. I'm still trying to get that one resolved.
