Norton 360 Premier v21.4.0.13 - On Demand scan HANGS

Had this version at least 6 months ago & since upgraded, the On Demand scan always hangs.

 

After downloaded file(s), I'll open Windows Explorer for the file(s), right mouse click, scroll to Norton 360 Premier & then click Scan Now. It will show a busy cursor spinning & nothing happens! The On Demand scan window won't open & I'm stuck all the time, every time!

 

The only way is to open Task Manager, look for Norton & end task to kill it. When I reopen Norton, the On Demand Scan window will immediately open & scan.

 

This is a faulty product. My previous version of Norton 360 DOESN'T have this problem at all. But after upgrading to this Premier version, the problem never ends.

 

I've tried updating & checking for software updates but to no avail. How to fix this?

 

Note: I'm using Windows 8.
