Issue abstract: The backup interface for the new V24 version of 360 Premium has no provision to specify what files to back up and no provision to specify where they are to be stored. There is no provision to select which files to back up.
Detailed description: In addition to the above, the Norton web site instructions refer to controls that are simply not present in the V24 software. Some of the advice is to use the notification bar icon to select the startup as Classic or My Norton. The Classic option is not available. Any advice appreciated. I followed the first rule of troubleshooting - I looked in the mirror, but could not see anything I am doing wrong… Another pair of eyes with experience may see what I am missing. Thanks in advance for any advice!
Product & version number: Norton 360 Premium latest update: 24.9.9452.879
OS details: Windows 10 fully updated
What is the error message you are seeing? No error message - just no backup

@bjm Maybe it takes a fresh install to even see the sets that are already in the cloud. My side sees nadda. Not even detecting my local drive or backup on drive D: . There were zero ways presented to setup backup and none are still present. This version is a farce unless you have unlimited time to tinker, remove and reinstall over and over. Glad it works for you nevertheless.
Hello @SoulAsylum
fwiw ~ as I recall:
my initial v24 over-install (pulled from my Norton account) needed clean reinstall…after…deleting my v22 backups online.
Note: my v24 sees v24 backups (v22 backups were deleted)
Yeah, my external drive is not detected.
my v24 sees my internal data drive because I added D:
Note: my v24 has one synching backup set.
my Dell daily rider has one synching backup set.
my HP dust collector has one synching backup set (when it’s on).
Update: Reset all Norton settings to normal after getting the new version update and rebooted…backup now sees older backup sets stored in the cloud. I haven’t connected my USB backup storage since setting up this computer again from scratch. Looks good once again.
@Barkerdl I too see that, if there aren’t any backups already on the local HD/USB device, backup doesn’t see the drive. I also cannot find a way to create a backup and send to any local storage.
On this example, what does the resore mean next to the Dell mean? restorre a backup, or restore to computer- and why doensn’t it have a manage button? Why doesn’t it have a green checkmark? How do I add other things? I have no options to add anything, plus I can’t manage sets without the green checkmark. Norton has messed up my cloud backups- some are showing multiple times, others not at all, & I can’t fix anything!
Hello @KayMargaret_Lee
v24 has one working/sync backup set.
Manage is for that one working/sync backup set.
Restore is for other saved/previous backup sets.
click Manage for the one working/sync backup set.
Note: v24 Cloud Backup does not have v22 Norton Backup Drive

Where did I put my v24 User Guide?
Oh wait…Norton did not publish v24 User Guide
Under My Backups, I see all my old “sets” from previous versions, but have just discovered the files to backup in those sets aren’t in the new cloud backup. For now I have the auto backup (or sync or whatever they are calling it!) turned off. when I ran a manual backup, checking history shows 0 files backed up. Going in a rechecking various folders for inclusion, the back ups work as they should. Can’t believe the folders/files from older backup sets didn’t get included in the new version!
