Hi,
I am new to Norton 360 Premium. I have Auto VPN set to Automatically connect for unsecure and compromised networks. I connected at a hotel, with a password. Norton alerted me that the network was not password protected and it would turn on the VPN. I liked that...it seemed to be doing what is was set for. However, I checked the My Norton screen and it said the secure VPN was off. I turned it on manually. Was it on, but My Norton did not reflect it yet? The next time I logged on in the same hotel, I did not get any notice and turned on the VPN manually again. The third time, I did get an alert but again wound up turning it on manually. I don't have a comfortable feeling things are working smoothly here.
Thanks...alerts have popped up that the network in unsecured and I see an entry in my history that Norton thought the network was unsecured so I thought the VPN would turn on automatically. Perhaps it is not fully unsecured or protections are intermittent. I will keep turning VPN on to be safe.

If you are entering a password to connect to the network, that network is secure. So the VPN would not turn on. This setting turns the VPN on automatically when you connect to a network that there is no password required.
That is how it is designed. If you still choose to use the VPN, you would need to turn it on manually as you have been doing.
