My Norton 360 quick scan has been "initializing" for a couple of hours now. Usually, it only takes a few minutes to run the scan. I'm on Windows 10. Any idea what's going on here? A few weeks ago, it was doing something similar, but I fixed the problem by shutting own my windows and then starting it back up (not "restarting" -- which I guess is a problem with N360 -- but shutting windows down and starting back up separately. That fix didn't work this time around. At least this time I was able to run a live update manually, which I couldn't do the last time I had a problem. Now, my quick scan has locked up. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks. I didn't realize that I had the "fix" backwards. I just reread the earlier issue I had and saw that it was the separate shut down and start up that was the problem. I did "restart" after a live update and that fixed it. I should have read what I went through in the previous problem. Sorry about that.
Run Norton Autofix to detect and repair common problems
https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v15756942
Please run Norton LiveUpdate + Restart (not Shut down) machine.
Be sure you are using the Restart command. Not 'Shut down' and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here. (credit peterweb)
