Not quite sure why you would look to hosts file but this is not a host file issue and your hosts file is fine.
Evertime I run the virus scan from 360 my system freezes when it reaches the SecurityRisk URLRedir file/folder? (I don't know what this is) yet when I ran the scan from the web site it reported no problems!
My system is also freezing at other times eg if there is no activity for some time, even at the Windows password screen. I had no problems until I installed version 2 so it must be causing the problem somehow.
I'm not happy about paying for a piece of software that appears to have buggered up my computer.
I only mentioned the hosts file as it was discussed earlier -again I have no idea what it does.
Can anyone suggest a fix for this?
If you think your system is infected, I would recommend that you follow the steps listed in the How To Troubleshoot a Suspected Malware Infection announcement. While these steps may seem complex, they are also thorough. Please let us know how this works for you. Thanks!
Hi all...first post from a long-time Norton user (back to the DOS days).
My Dell XPS 1730 notebook freezes in the same place whenever i run an anti-virus scan. Its stops cold when the scan reaches "Securityrisk.URLRedir". Anybody experiencing this and is there a fix?
Additional info: i was running the latest Systemworks (as recently as this morning) and had the EXACT same problem. I removed Systemworks using the Norton Remove Tool, reinstalled and had the same problem. So i removed again and installed Norton 360 2.0 (which i am using successfully on another Vista machine) and the problem persists.
Not only is this fustrating...it's getting expensive!! Any ideas on a fix?
Many thanks to all who respond...
Any other security software installed?
