Norton 360 Sonar Protection Disabled & AutoFix Error

I needed to do a system restore due to some software that began conflicting on my laptop. Afterward Norton 360 alerted me that I needed to update the definitons to stay protected so as I ran the autofix to update the definitions Norton 360 alerted me saying that the Advanced Sonar Protection is disabled and no matter how many times I tried to fix the problem it would not correct itself. Another issue is that Norton is telling me that I needed to go to the Intelligent Updator to download updates for the laptop.

Also is there a way I can reset Norton 360? Also is there a way to set Norton 360 to protect in a very aggressive way?

I am using Norton 360 Version 20.3.1.22

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Operating System

Thank you!

Thanks Phil_D

I ran a Quick Scan, Full System Scan, and Norton Power Eraser. All scans returned clean so I'm guessing nothing got into the laptop during the process but I will run the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool to make sure everything is ok.

Is there anything else I need to do?

Nope. Again, before you run the NR&RT, just be sure you have a backup of your Identity Safe data if you use that feature.

I don't think there are any indications of malware. Security programs which continually update are dependent upon system time, the timestamps on definitions and updates.  System restore interfered with this balance.

OK!

I ran the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool and the operation appeared to run successfully. The Norton 360 that is running is version 20.3.1.22 which I believe is the current version. Again Quick Scans, Full System Scans, and Norton Power Eraser scans are returning clean and I have not gotten any error messages. One more thing on the Norton 360 homepage it still has me logged in even though I signed out online of my Norton account. How do I sign out completely?

Hi,

Funny you should ask this question - as I stumbled on the answer the other day - never knowing why I was seeing the same as you were.  I would "sign-out" on my Norton Account page and the "Logged in as" would remain at the top of my main NIS page.  I found out that if I selected the MANAGE Widget there is another "Log Out " on the page that opens.  If I log out there, then the "Logged in as" is removed from the manin page of the UI.

Now all that said, I am really curous what the difference is between Log out and Sign out?

I have also discovered that I can go to my Norton Account and sign out - but if my Vault is Closed and I go to open it, it comes up and shows that I am Logged into my Norton Account - even thoughI just Signed out.

I do know that as far as the "Logged in as" on the main UI and on the Vault logged into Norton Account does remain logged in thru reboots.

I may have said both but as far as I know Log out and Sign out are the same thing. I just logged out completely through the manage tab and the name is not on the Norton 360 home page anymore.

So far everything seems to work and I'm just going to keep an eye open for anything suspicious.
