Norton 360 spam blocker not working on Outlook 2021. I click the Norton tab in Outlook, select "This is Spam" for an email, but the same address shows up in my mail box again. Reading on the forum and view the suggested link which are Microsoft link uses Outlook junk mail blocker to block spam. Need a fix for Norton to fix not blocking spam or should I just delete Norton from Outlook because it does not delete marked spam?
Operating system Windows 11 Pro
Hello. Norton anti-spam has the following compatibilities, there isn't a "fix" for the issue you are seeing:
https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v115546062
Please note:
Norton AntiSpam supported protocols and ports
-
Only POP3 and SMTP protocol is supported.
-
POP3 with SSL is not supported.
-
IMAP & Exchange accounts are not supported.
-
If email client is configured in ports other than default ports 110, then the new port needs to be added to protected ports.
The last line I underlined and bolded is FALSE. Ports CANNOT be added. This article seriously needs to be re-written as well. Conversely, I use the Norton anti-spam feature on Outlook 2021. It does NOT offer a spam folder of its own as you have noted. I still trust it to catch spam and protect the overall software suit as I always have although, the feature should be reworked or simply removed until that has taken place.
