Norton 360 Subscription Renewal charged over 1 month in advance

I have automatic renewal set for a Norton 360 Deluxe subscription. The renewal date is 11/24/20.  My credit card was charged for this year's renewal on 10/20/20. Does anyone understand why they are charging for a renewal subscription over one month in advance of the renewal?

Did it roll over your remaining time from your old subscription into the new one?  If not, please contact Norton Support and request your remaining days and report the issue of it renewing outside the 30 day window.

I feel for you.  I have never trust automatic payments and won't subscribe to them at all.  I don't like anyone having access to my money at all.   And when it comes to Norton, they charge top dollar for this convenience.  I have found that the best deals often come from dealers.  For example, I "renewed" by going to Fry's and buying Norton Security Premium 360 for $26.00.  The price online was $99.99. RIPOFF!  I wish you all the best!

If there is ever any issue with payments it is an easy change at Norton's end to disable my account from future access and updates until the payment is received. I have automatic renewals/automatic payment set at multiple other vendors. Not one of them submits their renewal charges anywhere near this far in advance. I would be pressed to name even one.   To take the money this far in advance is not excusable.  This kind of poor customer service is going to cost them an automatic renewal customer.

The only explanation I could suggest is that the payment is taken early in case there is an issue with the payment. eg. You might have changed your credit card or some other issue with the payment. That way there is still time to correct the issue with no lapse in your protection.

Why one month in advance was chosen as this advance date, only Norton knows.
