Norton 360 two instances n360.exe *36

I am on W7 /64 and have two instances of n360 *36 although running in Windows 64

It is slowing my laptop A

On laptop B I am running W/Vista there there are two instance of N360.

Please note difference n360 *36 and N360

I have been told that laptop A is normal but not why laptop B runs smoothly and without slowing down.

How can I install N360 on my Laptop A. I have multiple license and do not wish to lose one by

using NRT and having to re-instal perhaps the same verion.

you say two instances is normal, now I may be off in left field here, but is that because it's running on a 64 bit system? Sort of like one for 32 of the 64 bits and the other for the remaining 32 bits?

No, one is the system process for Norton and the other is the user process.  There are always two instances running, 32-bit or 64-bit.

The two instances of N360.exe*32 are as SOJ stated (User and System) which on the older versions of Norton products used to be ccsvchst.exe *32 that showed User and SYSTEM as the User Names.

You will also notice that if you have other Norton products installed, you will now have for example two nz.exe *32 (User and SYSTEM) for Norton Zone in lieu of addtional ccsvchst.exe *32 processes.

Sorry, but can someone explain why laptop A slows down drastically but not laptop B?

Can someone help me to restore response time as before and as on the other laptop.

I did include the following nformation in my previous post - have you done anything in regards to the questions?

Any reinstall of a Norton product on the same system does not use an addtional license, so you will not lose a license by doing a reinstall (even running the NRT).

IMHO, prior to doing a reinstall, I would verify you have no other security programs running in real-time on Laptop A and if you do or did have any other Antivirus installed, not only uninstall it via the Control Panel, but also locate and use the removal tool for that product.
