Hi, I have Norton 360 V2.0 installed on my computer that has just crashed. Have purchased another computer and would like to install Norton onto it. It is telling me I have already installed it onto 3 computers. How can I fix this to get it onto my new computer without purchasing another Norton product. This product is renewed every year and updated when required.
Please someone help as I cannot get anywhere with the phone number asa it tells me I need a password. No help at all.
N360 v2 is a very old product and v6 has just been released so you may consider an upgrade. You can upgrade to the newest version for free as long as you have a current subscription.
To activate N360 on your new system, you will have to contact Customer Support to free up your activation on the old system. Live Chat is usually the quickest way. - http://www.norton.com/chat.
Also, if your new system came with a security product pre-installed, then it will have to be thoroughly removed before installing Norton.
Please tell us what security application came preinstalled on your new computer so we can point you to the special tool that most applications have on their website for a complete cleanup before installing another application.
Just a suggestion -- Norton 360 upgraded from V5 to V6 in the last day or so and you just might like to stay with V5 until V6 has a chance to interact with more users and their varied systems ......
Ask CHAT if they can point you to the download for V5 if you want that and if they can't come back and tell us since we can give you the link.
What version of WIndows is on your new PC? Is it a laptop or a desktop?
This product is renewed every year and updated when required.

Looking forward to advise
Thanks
Shaza.
You must have a Norton Account? How else would you register your product every year? The activation codes are available for you on all your norton products when you log in. They also tell you which ones are expired and/or active and how many days you have remaining. Good luck
Well if everything seems OK might as well stay were you are.
Do you mean you have installed N 360 V6 on the new computer that came with McAfee installed? How did you remove the McAfee before installing Norton? Or did the Norton OnLine Support via CHAT do this for you?
Well I have successful uninstalled MacAfee using the uninstall programs and all seems fine. Norton all installed fine and everything is running smoothly at the moment. CHAT was a great help with everything. I have never used them before or the forum as I have never had any problems with using Norton. I have successfully reinstated backed up files.
My only grip is that Norton doesn't save emails which is what I needed from my old computer. Is there anyway that I can set up Norton to backup emails that are on the computer at all.
Thanks for the feedback. So long as it seems OK that should be fine but if you do suspect anything is not quite right in N 360 give us a shout and if necessary we can help you do a clean reinstall using the McAfee tool as well.
I don't use N 360 regularly so I can't advise on its back up facility but hang on for some advice from others who know it better. I'm pretty certain you can add specific folders to the backup list.
One thing I do as reserve is to set up my ISP mail account not to delete incoming mail after I've read it and then I go there every month or so using the webmail access and delete all but the most recent.
That way I can go if I need to and look and see if an expected email has gotton put in junk by them .... happens sometimes with authentic messages sent by automated systems, such as from Norton sometimes.
