If you are using Internet Explorer 7 then have a look at a free add-on -- Google on IE7Pro
I use it since the adblocker disappeared from the add-on pack.
hi again,
is there a way to add the add blocker from v1 to v2?
does symantec have a solution?
i want to avoid installing 3rd party software like ie7pro that create problems.

I doubt it but see what Norton Staff say. After all Norton is third party to Internet Explorer <s>
hi,
i found the perfect solution - the best thing that it is free!!!!!!!!!!!!
FYI
Thanks for the update and the link.
Unfortunately they seem to have a server problem when you try to go away from that home page ...
I'll try again.
hi again,
here is the direct d/l - http://www.selectview.org/downloads/all/2.2/SVSetup.exe
just install in 2 min.
Thanks -- either going there fixed it or they fixed the problem with their server but I can access the pages not.
I'll give it a try -- I note it allows you to Whitelist but not Blacklist which IE7Pro does but as I said earlier IE7Pro is over-featured for my needs.
Hi there,
We're evaluating a variety of options for ad blocking, but we want to make sure our solution works across different browsers and is more effective than what they already include.
Please stay tuned, but you should be able to leverage the in-browser options for that in the mean time.

That's very good news!
Please try it out on Compuserve which is no longer a subscription service and is plagued by flashy banner ads. Try Virus Central <s>
Norton AdBlocker worked fine previously. I was using IE7Pro which was OK but overkill and now I'm using the suggestion here: http://www.selectview.org/ which seems pretty good but still lets some stuff through.
Moved to Norton Internet Security board for better exposure.
hi ,

The posts that were moved dealt with Norton Internet Security 2007 and other issues that were not the topic of this thread. They were moved in order to ensure that this thread stays on the subject.

Hi, this is Shadow 1.
Please review my blogs relating to NIS2009 as there are various discussions relating to what is or is not going to be incorporated in that product including ad-blocking, pop-up blocking capabilities along with anti-phishing toolbars for non IE browsers such as Netscape, Firefox, Seamonkey, etc.
I've opened numerous tickets with Symantec relating to NIS 2008 only to re-install NIS 2007.
I'm going to be providing a priority id case number tonight when I arrive home from work.
Regards,
Shadow 1

Thank you, Shadow1. Since this is the Norton 360 Board, let's keep the conversation on the topic of Norton 360. If you would like to discuss released versions of Norton Internet Security, we have a board for that as well. If you would like to discuss the betas, please post to the Public Beta boards. Thank you for your understanding.
