>>Most importantly do you have "Only run at idle time" checked or not?>>
This could be the key here.
I think it may be impractical with the constraints to capture "all" problems. If we can find one or two issues which many/several people can reproduce then these should be tackled first, I would suggest. I was not trying to give parameters at the outset because I need participation. If I narrow the band before this gets off, then perhaps nobody will drop in.
I can tell you that in my case, backups are simply not taking place (outside of "Automatic" ) when they are scheduled. I have actually turned off "only ran at idle time". I have two computers set for these tests. One is idle 99.9% of the time. I am finding backups taking place outside of the schedule and I cannot explain them. I am using only "view details" of backup to determine if a backup is recorded as having been completed.
I welcome even a post that says my backup takes place as scheduled and these are my settings !
This is a first, this morning at 04:00 a backup took place. The first ever to take place according to the schedule. I have now set the schedule to backup at 07:00 and wait to see what happens.
This thread is referred to in the recently posted "WANTED" thread. I need contributors with suitable systems to check out and confirm or deny whether their system is exhibiting the following:
I have scheduled backups to take place at a specific time and day of week. Yet I periodically find that a backup has taken place outside of the scheduled time or day of week. Please check your settings for backup scheduling and the date of your last backup.
If you used "Backup files now" then this clearly does not count and has to be ignored. If your backup is not taking place as you set, then please advise.
I think you need to be more specific when you are asking for a reproduction of an issue.
This one specifically you would need to say how you have your backup schedule set up.
Do you have it set to weekly or monthly?
What time do you have set?
What days are checked?
Most importantly do you have "Only run at idle time" checked or not?
