Since the update I've been getting a heap of BSOD's. The dump reports showed that a Symantec driver appeared to be causing the issues. A clean install of the OS and everything didn't fix the problem, however uninstalling Norton 360 seems to have done the trick.
I've been a long term Norton customer and my subscription is due for renewal shortly and I'd like to keep using Norton 360.
I'm currently using Windows Defender, but it makes me uneasy as I've never used anything other than Norton and it's always work perfectly.
Has anyone else had or heard of similar issues when running Windows 8?

Which driver was causing the issue?
What version of 360 are you using? Support - About, Standard or Premier.
When you did 'A clean install of the OS and everything', did that include re installing 360?
I'll get the driver details from the guy analysising the reports.
I have Norton 360 V20.2.0.19. I'm assuming it's Standard as I can't see Premier written anywhere on the About screen.
The clean install of everything included Norton 360 which was downloaded via the link in My Account.
Who is 'the guy' analysing your reports?
If you have started getting help from one source, you should stay there until you have a solution, or they give up. More than one helper can cause more trouble as one does not know what the other is doing.
I was only attempting to alert Symantec to a potential issue.
System has ran fine without Norton 360 for a couple of days now. Reinstalled it to see if the first time was a dodgey install. The same BSOD's started to occur again.
System has been complete stable since removing Norton 360.
I decided to download fresh installation files for Norton 360 and try again... Once Norton 360 was installed the BSOD's returned after 2 minutes of the system booting up.
I've now removed Norton 360 with the Norton Removal Tool and have returned to Windows Defender.
My Norton subscription is due next month and I see no other alternative than to cancel as installing Norton 360 makes my system unusable.

What other software have you installed on the new Win 8 install?
Are you willing to try reverting to V6 of 360 to see if it is just the newer version or a Windows 8 issue?
If so
Download the Norton Removal Tool from here www.norton.com/nrt Download the appropriate version of your N360 Standard edition from www.norton.com/n360s_6 or Premier edition from www.norton.com/n360p_6 If you use Identity Safe, backup/export your data. Uninstall your Norton product with Windows control panel.
Reboot. Run the Norton Removal Tool. Reboot. Run the N360 installer. Run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available. Import your Identity Safe data.
If you do try this, please let us know if it helps.
You might want to look in Settings for Updates and disable the option for Automatic Download of New Version. This will stop your copy of 360 from downloading the V20 again, leaving it up to you when you want to Check for Updates.
