Anyone else think this latest upgrade from Norton to V24 for Norton 360 is total rubbish?
Previously you could select manual back ups and back up your data to a local hard drive, now in V24 this option is greyed out and only the iCloud back up is allowed! Not everyone wants or even trusts iCloud.
Norton have forced this “upgrade” on us via live update, but we have gone backwards and had a very useful facility removed:rage:

the backup is a bug they are working on it now so if it is not fix in the last update it is fix in the next
All: I made a screenshot of what Norton presented me a boot up this morning. I also have live updates disabled so that version 24 does NOT automatically install itself. The new installer format appears to be web based, not like the older installers that are offline based, not requiring a browser to be open. My suggestion is if you have an older installer remove version 24.xx . Some are reporting it cannot be removed via the traditional means. There is an removal tool but in my view, it doesn’t appear to be an official offering from Norton, or maybe I am missing something with the URL that is being presented. Reinstall your older product and disable live updates after you have version 22.24.8.36 installed to prevent reinstall of version 24.xx. I’m personally going to allow time for Norton to fix the abundance of issues this version has before installing on any of my machines.

there is a bug in backup in the 24.x norton is working on it right now
As MrRob_M says, not everyone trusts the cloud to store their personal information (including financial). The cloud isn’t a magical land - it is someone else’s machine!
