Norton 360 v5 backup keeps failing

I downloaded it a few weeks ago and have mande sure my backup set is managed and the external HDD is OK, which it is.  THe backup keeps failing.  What should I do?

Windows 7

Not sure how many files, but nowhere near enough to fill the external HDD

External HDD I back up to has 160Gb

The drive I store on has 1Tb free

 

Is there an error message associated with the failure. It might give us a clue or two.

Does your system go to sleep/hibernate? Backups sometimes don't have a bad enough alarm clock to get everything up and running before they call it quits and fail. A review of your power settings might be in order.

It comes up with too things that I can't copy and paste into this message.

 

First it scans the files then looks in User and talks about Bing bar settings (but I've deleted the Bing bar)

Then it scans again and has a long Norton message.

 

I was wondering about deleting all previous backup files and starting again?
