If I turn on VPN there are sites that I can no longer sign into, e.g. Amazon, my bank, and some credit card sites. I know it's VPN because if I leave the error screen up, go to Norton 360 and turn off VPN my sign in proceeds normally. I don't have to re-enter anything, it simply goes. Never had this problem until VPN became a "gift" for auto renewal, which I seriously reconsidering. Actually, I've never had a problem with Norton until hooked up with LifeLock. Why have a VPN that you have to turn off before you can access a site you want it on for? Sort of like locking the barn doors after the cattle is stolen!
I believe they use location services, which may be thrown off if your VPN Addres is coming from Seatle or someplace. Anyway, I've noticed that as well.

Hi, @Henry Shonka
Curious, what DNS resolver/server do you run?
Maybe, you run Cloudflare DNS 1.1.1.1?
Thanks
Would if I could but I can't so I won't! I'm 77 and just trying to make my life a little easier. I'm not a computer geek, still prefer standard shift and cars you have to drive. I don't know where these log files are or how to get them. As a matter of fact I sorry I ever mentioned this crap. Should have just deleted the entire program, scammers be damned, don't have anything anyhow.
Could you please collect NortonMAT logs, and compress and upload to the thread linked above, under 'Log Files'? Thanks.
as test ~ just now

Totally agree with Bill above. My Outlook email will not receive via POP3 to mail.btinternet.com regardless of SSL on / off and different port settings. So apart from half of the web sites I use being unattainable and email useless, what a good purchase that was. If I play around with the proxy settings I can access some sites (not BT for though for instance) but who wants to have to reconfigure applications every time you switch a VPN connection on or off? The VPN also only connects when it feels like it and often hangs permanently when connecting. Mystifyingly it sometimes gives my region as the Netherlands and then on other occasions the UK. Far more trouble than it is worth.
Worthless answer, in the mode of, "Bugger off, Dummie -- not our problem."
Then maybe you will be more understanding of this article from How to Geeks. Says the same thing with more detail. https://www.howtogeek.com/403771/why-do-some-websites-block-vpns/#:~:text=One%20of%20the%20only%20ways,%2C%20Amazon%2C%20and%20the%20BBC.
I have the same issue on a Mac, along with high energy consumption and very low speeds, even with a U.S. server. Horrible P.O.S. Wish I could get my money back.
If you made your purchase within 60 days you can contact Norton Support and request a refund. www.norton.com/contactcs

Some sites block access to known VPN servers for legal/copyright/security reasons. You need to check with the sites you are having difficulty accessing to see if they block VPNs. There is no setting or whitelist in the VPN app to bypass this kind of block.
