I'm running on my Mac Norton 360 and Norton Safe Web Plus. Is there a duplication of what they do or do I need to run both? Also, I have the Password Manager in Firefox and also running by itself: I do not know what the stand-alone one does for me. Would somebody please answer both questions?
Thank you, Norbert
As you are using a Mac, I'll ask this thread be moved to the Mac board where Mac users will see it.
There is one Password Manager that runs inside the browser and another one that runs independently of the browser from the line of Apps at the bottom. They both ask for password to enter but the stand-alone goes straight into the vault and lets me edit while the one in the browser validates and optionally lets me edit. They both look the same.
The Norton 360 provides malware protection. The Safe Web is a browser extension (on Windows systems anyway ) that catches web based security issues, such as malicious redirects, or phishing sites. Without Safe Web, your 360 would still catch these things, but after it got to your system, but before it did any damage. Still best to run both.
When you mention the Stand Alone Password Manager, are you referring to being able to access it through your 360 product?
