I haven't been in my Norton 360 for quite a while. I thought I would open it today and make sure the the virus signature database was updated. Surprise, but it wouldn't open! I came to this forum and saw the discussion about this issue. I tried the fix that Norton suggested but it didn't work. I found an easy fix:
1. I uninstalled Norton 360. Even though it wouldn't open, the uninstall feature worked by clicking on Start, Norton 360, uninstall.
2. I then shut down the computer and went to my favorite computer store, Microcenter. I bought ESET Smart Security 4, came home and installed it.
3. I ran a scan to be sure there were no problems and then updated the virus signature database. I have ESET NOD 32 Antivirus on my other two PCs and have never had a problem. ESET Smart Security 4 has a few more features than NOD 32 Antivirus.
