Norton 360 wont start scan... HELP ME!

Ok so i have Vista Basic, ANd the scan stays at zero for all 3. I tried to read the other posts, I did try to run it in safe mode, nothing same problem. I tried re installing Norton, nothing… Also when ever i cancel the allready there “scan” thats not going anywhere, then when ever i try to get another one going it says there is a scan in progress…

Just to add I DID all thease and did not help

1. Disable scan in compressed files.

Open Norton 09 version> Click Settings in the Computer Pane> Turn off the Compressed File Scan> Apply and OK>

2. Delete temporary files.

Click Start> Run> in the Run dialogue box, type %temp%, click OK. This will open the temporary folder. Delete as many as possible from it.

3. Run Intelligent Updater.

   Follow the link Intelligent Updater

Now try to run a scan.

Start> Run, in the Run dialogue box, type navw32 /L and click OK.

Hi kolliO:

Lets try this:

Please run a SysProt log for us so we can check your system for rootkit activity. You will need to disable Norton auto-protect while you run the scan.

Once it is downloaded to your desktop, right click on the SysProt icon, go to properties, and click unblock and apply.

Choose log, check all the boxes except show hidden objects only and scan.

You will be able to post the log here using the "add attachments" link just below the orange post button.

I will i turn norton off? and i allready dowladed the thing just need to turn norton off…

I got an error when  trying to get the system on

ERROR
Failed to start service.

SysProt anti rootkit needs to be run with admin privladges!

Just to clear up im the admim for my pc, and there is only one account.

Right click on the program icon, go to properties, and see if there is a box at the bottom that says unblock.  Click it, and apply.

Also, with Vista, right click on the icon and choose run as administrator.  See if that works as well.

You have to Install SysProt AntiRootkit on to your system.

Sysprot doesn't "install"

Okay KollieO:

See if you can download, install, and run Malwarebytes.  When you are done, click on the log tab, save the log to Notepad and post it here using the "add attachments" link below the post button.
